Onde research shows that many drivers go offline early to avoid ending up far from home, especially during slower hours or after long shifts. That means fewer available cars for your business and fewer completed rides overall.

To help mobility companies keep drivers online longer while allowing them to get home faster, Onde has launched a new feature in the Driver app: Driving home.

Help drivers finish shifts smarter

Driving home feature allows drivers to receive only orders that move them closer to their home destination. Every driver is given 3 rides in “Driving home” mode every 24 hours.

Instead of logging off and driving back unpaid, drivers can continue accepting profitable rides while naturally heading home.

Here’s how the feature works for the drivers

Here’s how the feature works for the drivers:

  • Drivers set their home destination directly in the app.
  • When the driver chooses to drive home, the system offers rides with drop-offs in the same direction.
  • Drivers stay productive until the end of the shift.
  • After each completed Driving home trip, drivers can decide whether to continue using Driving home mode or switch it off.

Here’s how this feature helps businesses:

  • Keeps more drivers online during off-peak hours
  • Reduces driver frustration at the end of shifts
  • Increases completed rides without operational effort
  • Improves driver satisfaction and loyalty

For customers, this new development means shortened waiting times, as more drivers are available in their areas.
