6 Ways to Use Onde's Notification Center for In-App Marketing
In our earlier article we introduced App notifications — a way to send messages directly to drivers and customers from your Onde dashboard in My hub.
Today, let's build on that foundation to explain how the Notification Center has become even more powerful as a communication and marketing tool for your ride-hailing or taxi business.
New: Push delivery that reaches users even when they’re not in the app
Before this update, users could see notifications only if they opened the app. Now notifications are delivered as push notifications too. They reach users even when the app is closed, as long as:
- the app is installed on the device, and
- the user is logged in.
This means your messages have a much better chance of being seen and acted on. No extra setup is required on your side.
What this means for your business
Because notifications now arrive immediately and stay available in the Notification Center afterwards, you can use them in new ways to grow engagement and build loyalty.
Here are some practical ideas you can start implementing right away:
Use case 1. Create cross-promotions with local partners
You can now work with restaurants, gyms, event venues, etc. to create mutual value when you communicate with your customers.
In exchange, your partner can promote your ride-hailing service on their channels. This kind of cross-promotion helps you reach new users and strengthen local partnerships.

Use case 2. Monetize by selling ad space inside notifications
You can partner with other brands and promote their messages in your app for a fee. This creates an additional revenue stream without interrupting the user experience.
Because notifications appear even when users are not in the app, these partner messages are more likely to be noticed.

Use case 3. Increase loyalty with persistent promo codes
Promo codes sent by push notification are easily forgotten. But when they remain in the Notification Center, users will return to them when the time is right.
You can also include a deep link that takes the user directly to the screen where the promo code can be used.
Use case 4. Reward drivers with partner offers
Use the Notification Center to share offers that help your driver base save money:
- Deals at gas stations
- Discounts at coffee shops
- Lower prices on car services
This shows drivers that you value their work, which in turn helps increase loyalty and driver satisfaction.

Use case 5. Share announcements without rushing
Now that notifications stay accessible, you no longer have to cram all the details into a short message. Use longer, clearer messages to share:
- New features
- Loyalty programs
- Prize competitions
- Important updates about your service
Users can read them at their own pace and understand your news fully.
Use case 6. Collect feedback and run surveys
Ask customers and drivers to share their opinions or complete surveys. You can include a direct link to the survey in the notification.
Because notifications stay in the Notification Center, reminders stay visible until users act on them.
